Press Release: Optima introduces version 2026.2 with an overview of the key features available so far
Although Optima typically releases updates with new features and enhancements three times a year without major external communication, on this occasion we would like to share an update on the functionalities now available in Optima LRMS®.
We are pleased to announce the press release of the new Optima Laboratory Resource Management System (LRMS®) version 2026.2, launched on 4 May 2026.
The ingenuity and creativity of our users have elevated Optima to new levels of resource optimisation and business insight. At Optima, we ensure that all necessary features are provided to deliver a genuine return on investment from an automatic scheduling tool.
Automated Resources Scheduling across Departments with Optima LRMS®
Our users are extending the use of Optima and involving other functions such as:

- Accounting for services ready to be invoiced
- Sharing resources between laboratories when workload requires
Workload Balance is taken care by Optima LRMS®
Among the various activities to be performed, some may require significant dedication and concentration and may be carried out a limited number of times per day or week, or have the number of samples assigned adjusted when performed by a senior rather than a junior.
This can easily be accommodated through specific custom parameters.
Multi-Instrument booking with Optima LRMS®
Each analytical technique has its particularities, and some may require more than one instrument depending on the number of samples to be processed. A mathematical formula can be defined as needed for your specific requirements.
Rescheduling, Reassignment or Re-injecting samples is made easy with Optima LRMS®
There are always last-minute changes, such as an employee calling in sick, an instrument breaking down, samples needing prompt reanalysis, an urgent project requiring finalisation, or critical samples that must be processed within hours.
Several options are available to facilitate information for easy reassignment of staff or instruments, up to allowing Optima to automatically reschedule requests based on new priorities.
Dedicated resources for Customers and Projects are provided with Optima LRMS®
The activities performed in the labs are ultimately requested by customers, both internal and external, and are linked to projects. Dedication to these customers or projects can now be assigned to specifically trained personnel and qualified instruments. Additionally, you may also define a maximum number of FTEs per week or month to be dedicated to each customer.
Optima LRMS® offers much more than what is listed above, including Forecasting, out-of-the-box and ad-hoc Reports and multiple custom parameters to configure them according to your workflows.
